It is 11 November 1989 when a rumour begins to circulate in Stapelburg – of all places, the border is to be opened here today – as the first place outside Berlin. More and more people arrive in the restricted area, making their way to the buffer zone, where events eventually take on a life of their own.

On the Border Crossers Tour in Stapelburg, visitors become part of these events themselves. As, by chance, we end up in the restricted zone on this very day.
